The STAR program provides support to youth who are exiting Probation-based placements and returning to a family-based home environment. The program's vision is for youth to transition home successfully by engaging in school and/or work and avoid future justice system involvement.
Encompass STAR staff partner with Santa Cruz County Juvenile Probation, Positive Discipline, and Conflict Resolution Center to create robust transition plans and increase parental capacity to care for and address the needs of children involved in the justice system.
Encompass staff are bilingual and focus on the whole family. Linkages include mental health and drug/alcohol counseling, employment resources, academic support, and pro-social activities.
