IN HOME SUPPORTIVE SERVICES PUBLIC AUTHORITY

The Public Authority is responsible for enrolling caregivers into the In-Home Supportive Services Program, provides ongoing training to IHSS caregivers, provide free supplies to IHSS caregivers and manage a registry of IHSS caregivers. The Public Authority assists IHSS recipients that need a caregiver with referrals of potential caregivers.

Be an IHSS recipient or if looking for work as a caregiver, have a valid Social Security Card and unexpired U.S government issued identification, attend an orientation and pay for live scan background check.

The County of Santa Cruz Human Services Department's Adult and Long-Term Care Division assists older and disabled adults to maximize self-sufficiency, safety and independence. We provide case work services and resource information that offer a choice of community services and care options through our Adult Protective Services, In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS), Public Guardian and Veterans Services programming.
