Education Services: implementation of attendance plans, educational interventions and supporting families with requesting services in through SELPA is there is suspicion of a learning disability.

Families Together provides counseling, parenting support, and case management to families using a home visiting model and a client-centered approach to services. Caregivers participate in the development of an individualized service plan based on their unique strengths and needs.

Families referred by Santa Cruz County Family & Children's Services or CalWORKs are assigned a therapist who helps design customized services, including sessions in English or Spanish, and in the home or other preferred location. Families learn about parenting, child development, parent-child attachment, and general wellness. In addition to counseling, home visitors connect families with other community resources such as substance use counseling, interpersonal violence services, and early education support.

S Se Puede is one of the only bilingual and monolingual treatment environments in the nation. This 23-bed residential program serves Spanish speaking, male clientele for a 30-90-day period, based on individual client needs. Staffed by a bilingual team, highly skilled, trained, and certified clinicians help clients focusing on issues surrounding recovery from substance use and co-occurring disorders. Program activities include evidence-based trauma informed and cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), as well as focused individual and group counseling, pro-social life skill building, mindfulness, and daily house meetings.

Casa Pacific is part of an innovative project centered around work and meaningful daily activities, as the core of the co-occurring disorders treatment approach. Residents attend the Community Connection's Mariposa Center to learn vocational skills and participate in various volunteer jobs, or they participate in the Community Action Board's Alcanse work crew. Other activities include socialization, recreation, accessing community resources, on-site recovery meetings and individualized attention to assist residents in maintaining sobriety, reaching their personal goals, and transitioning into independent community living

Treatment Focus: Helping individuals in crisis

Telos is a short-term crisis residential program that serves as a diversion to psychiatric hospitalization for individuals in crisis. The program provides a healing environment where residents receive the treatment, support, and care they need to stabilize and move out of their crisis state. Staff provide group and individual counseling, as well as assistance with independent living skills and connecting to the community. Treatment approaches include Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness Awareness Program, Trauma Informed Care, and Dialectical Behavioral Treatment (DBT). A nurse and County psychiatrist are available for medication monitoring and management.

We provide resources and services to empower youth ages 15-24 who have or have had experiences with foster care placement, juvenile justice, homelessness/housing instability, or trauma related to being a victim of a crime. TAY also offers counseling, skills building, a drop-in resource center, and subsidized supportive housing.

Description: Located just off historic Highway 1 in Aptos, CA, Freedom House is a sober living home for 12 men who are actively engaged in recovery. The multi-story home sits on a large wooded lot, in a quiet and serene setting. Freedom House is located far away from the hustle and bustle of Santa Cruz, with convenient public transportation access. At Freedom house, clients receive the benefits of community support from recovery peers as well as bilingual house management. Residents build community connections by attending weekly house meetings where rules and policies are frequently reviewed and assessed which helps to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all residents. Provides a supportive, motivating setting for recovery from drug and alcohol dependency. Janus has found an environment of security, support and encouragement is an important first step toward a resident's continued sobriety. They enter sober living environments after leaving a residential treatment program.

Provides a sub-acute withdrawal management program that offers closely supervised, 24-hour residential care in a comfortable, safe environment. Withdrawal management is offered as a stand-alone program, but most people transition to another of Janus' Recovery Programs when they are finished with the process.
