DAMIANS LADDER
Damians Ladder assists low- and moderate-income older and disabled homeowners by providing minor home repairs that they cannot perform due to lack of funds and/or inability to physically perform the repairs themselves. Our purpose is to enable people to remain in their homes as long as possible.
IN HOME SUPPORTIVE SERVICES PUBLIC AUTHORITY - (IHSS PA)
The Public Authority is responsible for enrolling caregivers into the In-Home Supportive Services Program, provides ongoing training to IHSS caregivers, provides free supplies to IHSS caregivers and manages a registry of IHSS caregivers. The Public Authority assists IHSS recipients who need a caregiver with referrals of potential caregivers.
ELDERDAY ADULT DAY HEALTH CARE
Provides adult day health care to promote independence and prevent institutional placement. Offers health monitoring, care coordination, family support, therapeutic activities, and physical, occupational, and speech therapies. Administers dietary consultations, program transportation, and daily meals.
DEMENTIA FAMILY CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUPS
Provides mutual support groups that offer emotional comfort, practical guidance, and resource sharing for caregivers.

DOWNTOWN SENIORS OF SANTA CRUZ
The Downtown Senior Center aims to keep older adults active, engaged and connected with the community through recreation, education and technology. With a variety of classes, activities, trips and services for adults age 50+, there is something for everyone.
Serves a hot lunch and offers special activities. Provides recreation programs for seniors and soon-to-be seniors. Offers exercise classes, Yoga, Tai Chi and Qi Gong, book club, creative writing, special events, line dancing, walking/hiking club.

IN HOME SUPPORTIVE SERVICES (IHSS)
The County of Santa Cruz Human Services Department's In Home Supportive Services (IHSS) program supports safe independent living for low-income frail elderly adults and disabled persons of all ages. County IHSS services assist people in applying for and determining eligibility to receive and access IHSS. The IHSS Public Authority - a separate partner agency - is the employer of record for IHSS providers, providing assistance to IHSS recipient consumers on how to interview, hire and supervise a care providers, helping improve service delivery for low income seniors and disabled individuals of all ages who are enrolled in IHSS.
SENIOR PROGRAM
The Diversity Center provides a range of activities to engage LGBTQ+ older adults, including social gatherings, low-impact exercise, and luncheons. Our weekly Wisdom Workshops offer a welcoming space for elders to socialize, play games, receive tech support, attend gentle yoga classes, or connect with staff for additional support. Additional workshop topics include dementia prevention, elder abuse awareness, and ecological practices.
Key Programs:
Wisdom Workshops: A weekly offering for LGBTQ+ and allied older adults. Join us for different learning experiences including writing workshops, low-impact chair yoga, music bingo, special guest presentations, and more.
Rainbow Strollers: A weekly walking group for LGBTQ+ and allied older adults. This activity provides a fun, rewarding, non-judgmental experience for walkers with a focus on appropriate exercise, interaction, companionship, and enjoyment of nature. The walks are longer than 2 miles with breaks.
Men's and Women's Socials: LGBTQ+ men's and women's socials meet every other month starting in February, either at someone's home, for an outing, or at The Diversity Center. The socials are usually for two hours in the afternoon, though the time can vary.
Luncheon Socials: LGBTQ+ and allied older adult luncheons occur in January, April, September, and November. Luncheons feature food, beverages, entertainment, and engaging education on a relevant topic.
CHAIR YOGA FOR SENIORS
Gentle chair yoga for seniors. Bi-lingual. No experience necessary.
