SANTA CRUZ COUNTY PROBATION DEPARTMENT

Adult Services:
The Adult Division provides a full spectrum of services operating around three major focus areas - Pretrial Services, Court Coverage and Investigations, and Community Based Supervision. The Division's Pretrial Unit completes assessments and makes recommendations regarding the release or detention of clients pending criminal charges and provides monitoring to those deemed eligible by the courts to remain in the community. The Investigations Unit conducts pre-sentence and pre-plea investigations as well as making sentencing recommendations based on the statutory mandates outlined in the Penal

All Probation Officers serve the criminal courts as Department representatives in the felony and specialty courtrooms. In addition, the Division facilitates:

  • Case planning and re-entry services for those serving the custody portion of their local prison sentence at the county jail.
  • Provides contract oversight for service providers who support programming for clients both in custody and in the community.
