Located near busy Mission Street in Santa Cruz's beautiful Residential West Side, residents will have access to many local eateries, businesses, activities and job opportunities. Residents are encouraged to live independently in this supportive, community based setting. Residents are encouraged to develop and practice life skills and relationship building. In this supported environment, residents are able to develop a stronger sense of accountability, responsibility and community to further their recovery. The multi-story home sits on a large wooded lot, in a quiet and serene setting. Freedom House is located far away from the hustle and bustle of Santa Cruz, with convenient public transportation access. At Freedom house, clients receive the benefits of community support from recovery peers as well as bilingual house management. Residents build community connections by attending weekly house meetings where rules and policies are frequently reviewed and assessed which helps to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all residents. SANTA CRUZ MUNICIPAL UTILITIES (SCMU)
The Multi-Family Utility Customer Assistance Program (UCAP) is designed to
assist financially struggling households that live in multi-family apartment
complexes. Households that live in large housing complexes usually pay their
water, wastewater, and/or refuse costs to their landlords or property managers via
rent, a 3rd party bill, or via HOA fees. This Multi-Family UCAP provides a onetime
utility assistance check to help struggling households afford their SCMU
utility service fees/costs. In order to apply, income-qualifying households must
live within SCMU's service area (generally Santa Cruz and Live Oak).
HOMELESS PERSONS HEALTH PROJECT
Provides comprehensive case management, community resource navigation, and information and referrals for individuals experiencing homelessness. Offers health screenings, HIV testing, substance use disorder counseling, and health education services. Supplies basic needs assistance, including hygiene products and pet food.

DISABILITY SERVICES
- Case management and service coordination including planning, goal setting, residential placement, respite help, medical services, therapies, parenting classes, independent living skills training, mobility training and more.
- Early intervention services for young children (age 0-3) with developmental disabilities may include speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, infant development programs, behavior modification and respite care.
- School age services are provided for children and youth (age 3- 22). Offers assistance accessing generic resources, advocacy at Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings, respite and camp, day care, residential placement, behavior modification and adaptive skills training.
