SOBER LIVING ENVIRONMENTS WEEKS HOUSE Description: Located just outside of Downtown Santa Cruz, CA, this 8-bed, all male facility provides a healthy balance of independence and support. The location provides easy access to public transportation and is in the heart of West Side Santa Cruz, which is bustling with activities and local businesses. At Weeks SLE, residents are encouraged to practice healthy relationships, accountability and responsibility. Active participation in some form of recovery program is required for residents, as well as attending regular house meetings and community chores. Located near busy Mission Street in Santa Cruz's beautiful Residential West Side, residents will have access to many local eateries, businesses, activities and job opportunities. Residents are encouraged to live independently in this supportive, community based setting. Residents are encouraged to develop and practice life skills and relationship building. In this supported environment, residents are able to develop a stronger sense of accountability, responsibility and community to further their recovery. Capacity: 6 Telephone: (831) 226-3523 Email: [email protected] FREEDOM HOUSEDescription: Located just off historic Highway 1 in Aptos, CA, Freedom House is a sober living home for 12 men who are actively engaged in recovery. The multi-story home sits on a large wooded lot, in a quiet and serene setting. Freedom House is located far away from the hustle and bustle of Santa Cruz, with convenient public transportation access. At Freedom house, clients receive the benefits of community support from recovery peers as well as bilingual house management. Residents build community connections by attending weekly house meetings where rules and policies are frequently reviewed and assessed which helps to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all residents. DONATION SERVICES
Accepts donations of clothing, household textiles of all kinds, housewares, jewelry, furniture, lamps, kitchenware, antiques, bicycles, shoes, small appliances, china, glassware, electronic equipment in good condition including computers, knick knacks, linens, sporting equipment, cars and boats.
Does not accept donations of mattresses and bedding, older TVs, (more than five years old). Furniture that needs repair or reupholster, built-in appliances, plumbing fixtures, used building materials, water soaked or stained items, broken appliances, magazines, chemicals or paint.

EATING AND BODY IMAGE 12 STEP SUPPORT GROUPS
OA is a twelve-step, fellowship program for individuals who, through shared experience, strength and hope, are recovering from eating disorders, including compulsive overeating, bulimia, anorexia, or other unhealthy relationships with food and/or body image. HOMELESS PERSONS HEALTH PROJECT
Provides comprehensive case management, community resource navigation, and information and referrals for individuals experiencing homelessness. Offers health screenings, HIV testing, substance use disorder counseling, and health education services. Supplies basic needs assistance, including hygiene products and pet food.

COMMUNITY HEALTH EDUCATION
Provides public health education, community safety advocacy, and health resource navigation. Offers nutrition programs, CalFresh enrollment support, oral health services, and teen health outreach. Administers traffic safety programs, bicycle traffic schools, child passenger safety certifications, tobacco education coalitions, and the Medical Marijuana Identification Card (MMIC) program.

SENIOR PROGRAM
The Diversity Center provides a range of activities to engage LGBTQ+ older adults, including social gatherings, low-impact exercise, and luncheons. Our weekly Wisdom Workshops offer a welcoming space for elders to socialize, play games, receive tech support, attend gentle yoga classes, or connect with staff for additional support. Additional workshop topics include dementia prevention, elder abuse awareness, and ecological practices.
Key Programs:
Wisdom Workshops: A weekly offering for LGBTQ+ and allied older adults. Join us for different learning experiences including writing workshops, low-impact chair yoga, music bingo, special guest presentations, and more.
Rainbow Strollers: A weekly walking group for LGBTQ+ and allied older adults. This activity provides a fun, rewarding, non-judgmental experience for walkers with a focus on appropriate exercise, interaction, companionship, and enjoyment of nature. The walks are longer than 2 miles with breaks.
Men's and Women's Socials: LGBTQ+ men's and women's socials meet every other month starting in February, either at someone's home, for an outing, or at The Diversity Center. The socials are usually for two hours in the afternoon, though the time can vary.
Luncheon Socials: LGBTQ+ and allied older adult luncheons occur in January, April, September, and November. Luncheons feature food, beverages, entertainment, and engaging education on a relevant topic.
