One of the universities under University of California offering post-secondary educational service. Responsible for the recruitment, selection, and admission of students. Provides information about admissions criteria and application procedures. The Affiliates work to provide a cultural and academic bridge between the University and community. Affiliates provide scholarships to deserving local UCSC students. Affiliate members receive a monthly UCSC calendar of events including special tours, use privileges of the UCSC pool and sports facilities, and use of the libraries. McHenry Library on campus offers computer and Internet access on the entry-level floor which does not require a username or password, and school policy is to let all members of the public use them for free.

The UCSC Slug Support Program was created to promote early intervention with students of concern to prevent culminating problems from escalating into a crisis. The goal of the Slug Support Program is to identify students navigating difficult or challenging situations and assist them in resolving their concerns. Slug Support also has emergency food and housing resources for students as well as a financial assistance hardship fund for basic needs. Slug Support serves both undergraduate and graduate UCSC students.

CASA OF SANTA CRUZ COUNTY

Trains volunteers to work with children who have been removed from their homes, declared dependents of the court due to abuse, neglect or abandonment and placed in foster care. Court Appointed Special Advocates work for a judge, alongside attorneys and social workers, as sworn officers of the court to advocate for children. Advocates receive an initial 35 hours of training and volunteer 10-15 hours per month on behalf of one child. The volunteer advocates on behalf of the child until the case is resolved.

Community Bike Collective breaks down barriers for people who would like to enjoy the physical and emotional benefits of bike riding. We do this primarily through two programs, a Ride Program and a Bike Giveaway Program.

The Bike Program: We provide participants with everything they need to have a safe, fun experience riding a mountain bike in the great outdoors, all at no cost to them! Everyone is fit individually with a bike and helmet then we head out to ride the trails. We offer skills instruction, moral support and encouragement. Participants explore the wonder of nature, the challenges of bike riding and the joy of friends and community!

The Bike Giveaway Program: We accept donations of used bikes, fix them, and give them to a deserving new home - 700 bikes since this program began.
