Food Distribution Fridays and Saturdays 11am - need to bring own bags.
Assistance with filing for Unemployment, CalFresh, Medi-cal, job search, translation of documents for individuals with English language barriers is available. We are also providing food bags for families of youth who are incarcerated in Juvenile Hall and also youth who are assigned to attend Watsonville Evening Center. 5/13/2020

Barrios Unidos distributes fresh produce and healthy staples to Santa Cruz County low-income families and individuals and other agencies that serve those in need. For the vast majority of the families/individuals we serve, the Healthy Food Distribution program improves nutrition, stretches fixed-income dollars and provides opportunities for social connection and volunteerism.

Assists families with readjustment onto the path of financial stability and self-sufficiency by providing direct assistance. Programs include:
  • Hope and Home provides one-time rent assistance
  • Utility assistance including gas, electric and water (this is now a seasonal program that runs from October through December- funding dependent on availability)
  • HEAP (Home Energy Assistance Program) runs all year long
  • Rental Assistance (Limited Funding, only for first time assistance) for Undocumented, Veterans, and Disabled (this is now seasonal, October through December)
