CRC VICTIMS/SURVIVORS OF CRIME

Serve victims/survivors who are impacted by the following crimes:
  • Adult Physical Assault (includes aggravated and simple assault)
  • Arson
  • Bullying (Verbal, Cyber, or Physical)
  • Burglary
  • Domestic and/or Family Violence
  • DUI/DWI Incidents
  • Other: vehicular victimization (e. g. hit and run)
  • Robbery
  • Teen dating victimization

WAFWC VICTIM/SURVIVOR OF CRIME SERVICES

Survivors/victims services: Advocate, Case Manager, System Navigator, Basic needs, Legal services, Financial, Mental Health Services, Victim-Offender Dialogue or a Restorative Justice approach, Support Groups, Child Care/Transportation to attend services or court proceedings
Legal Services: Restraining Orders, Help preparing Victim impact statements, information about the mechanics of court proceedings, Court accompaniment services, Support understanding in criminal justice processes, Filing police reports, Support with gathering & providing relevant documentation, U-Visas
Financial Services: If a survivor is in our Housing Program, we provide credit re-establishment services. We also occasionally offer Financial Literacy courses.
Education Services: If invited to a classroom, we provide workshops on healthy relationships as part of our prevention work to end intrfamilial cycles of violence.

WALL TO BRIDGES PROJECT

Helps to foster family communication during and after incarceration with those in Santa Cruz County. Addresses communication issues between incarcerated individuals and their family members through confidential services. Provides a safe space for clients to discuss the impact incarceration has had on their relationships, and form a plan for the future.

We offer one-day public workshops on Communication and Conflict Resolution Skills to learn how to handle conflict effectively and reach win-win solutions. For your business, non-profit, board of directors, group or association, you have the option of to attend one of our public workshops or our trainers can tailor workshops for you and deliver them on-site. Any issues between landlords and tenants or between tenants can be mediation. Cases can be both pre and post-court filing. Facilitates efficient and free landlord/tenant resolution. Issues addressed are notices to vacate, evictions (unlawful detainers), security deposits, rental payments, and much more

RESTORATIVE JUSTICE PROGRAM

Survivors/victims services:
  • Our Victim Offender Dialogue Program provides the opportunity for those most directly affected by crime - the victim, the offender, their families, and community members - to be directly and actively involved in responding to the harm caused by crime.
  • Offers victim-offender dialogues, victim-awareness classes, neighborhood courts, parent-teen mediations, re-entry mediations with justice-involved persons, restorative justice and transformative justice for certain domestic violence cases.
