PUENTES BILINGUAL PROGRAM

Puentes (Bridges) is a bilingual program, all children in Puentes are provided with support in their home language whether it is Spanish or English. English focus classes are integrated, but all children acquire literacy in English, regardless of home language. Spanish speaking parents, regardless of program, receive translated materials and support from our bilingual community coordinator and bilingual staff.

The Family & Children's Services Child Protective Services (CPS) provides protection for children who are at risk of or are victims of physical, sexual, or emotional abuse, or emotional or physical neglect, with a focus on the safety of the child and support for parents to strengthen families and promote safe nurturing homes for children. We screen for and investigate reports of abuse, neglect, or harm, assess for safety and risk, and provides families with referrals to community resources. We also provide supportive services to children and families in their homes, provide out-of-home placement and permanency planning when necessary, and provide services to help foster youth transition into adulthood. Child protective services also provides educational workshops and trainings on identifying and preventing commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC), and how to engage/work with CSEC. All-volunteer organization providing peer support for parents and their loved ones who are grieving the loss of a baby before, during or after birth. Offers in-person and virtual grief support group meetings for pregnancy and infant loss, and specialized virtual support groups: Early Pregnancy Loss, Parenting After Loss, Subsequent Pregnancy. Also offers one-on-one peer support, information and resources, presentations for healthcare providers, and limited financial assistance to help eligible families with funeral expenses.

In the Monterey/San Benito Counties Continuum of Care (CoC), the system is referred to as the Coordinated Assessment and Referral System (CARS).

In addition to a CARS assessment, and if you meet the program requirements, CCCIL can provide Housing Services through our HHAP Program (Homeless Housing, Assistance and Prevention). CCCIL's HHAP Program provides Rapid Re-Housing (RRH)) services to Monterey and San Benito County Residents. HHAP services are intended to help eligible participants who are literally homeless and collaborate with the applicant to obtain permanent housing; and achieve housing stability.
