CHILD AND ADOLESCENT BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES

Provides comprehensive, strengths-based, culturally and linguistically appropriate behavioral health services for Medi-Cal eligible children and youth who have moderate to severe behavioral health needs.

Services include assessment, treatment planning, psychotherapy (individual, family), case management, and psychiatric care (evaluation and medication management). Services delivered at County behavioral health clinic locations, community, or home-based settings, as clinically appropriate.

The Access Team provides 24-hour confidential crisis intervention and referral services (800-952-2335).

Provides substance use disorder prevention, early intervention, and treatment services across the continuum of care.

PUBLIC GUARDIAN

The Public Guardian is appointed by the Santa Cruz County Superior Court as a Probate Conservator for individuals who have no family or friends to assist them. This type of conservatorship is to assist persons who are substantially unable to manage for themselves. The conservator makes decisions regarding food, clothing, shelter, and health care. Conservator of the estate allows the conservator to find, secure and manage all the financial assets of the conservatorship.

CASA OF SANTA CRUZ COUNTY

Trains volunteers to work with children who have been removed from their homes, declared dependents of the court due to abuse, neglect or abandonment and placed in foster care. Court Appointed Special Advocates work for a judge, alongside attorneys and social workers, as sworn officers of the court to advocate for children. Advocates receive an initial 35 hours of training and volunteer 10-15 hours per month on behalf of one child. The volunteer advocates on behalf of the child until the case is resolved. EATING DISORDER INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM (IOP).

The Lotus Collaborative Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for eating disorder recovery offers clients 3 hours of support 4-7 days a week. Treatment days of our IOP include group therapy, nutrition education, and one supervised meal or snack. Clients receive weekly individual therapy with a Lotus primary therapist and dietary sessions with a registered dietitian. Our IOP programming offers a variety of scheduling options including an evening Professional Track for those maintaining a busy work, school or family schedule.

FREE ONLINE SUPPORT GROUP

The Lotus Collaborative offers a weekly support group at no charge for those in recovery from an eating disorder. Our support group is an opportunity to share personal experiences, feelings and coping strategies, in a safe space with others.

County IHSS services assist people to apply for and determine eligibility to receive and access IHSS. The IHSS Public Authority - a separate partner agency - is the employer of record for IHSS providers, providing assistance to IHSS recipient consumers on how to interview, hire and supervise a care providers, helping improve service delivery for low income seniors and disabled individuals of all ages who are enrolled in IHSS.

CRIMINAL DEFENSE / CLEAN SLATE PROJECT

Serve victims/survivors who are impacted by the following crimes: Currently charged with a crime, facing a juvenile justice allegation, facing involuntary commitment in conservatorship or contempt proeeding, arrested or cited for criminal offense and seeking early representation, seeking record clearance, or actively supervised on PRCS, probation, or parole and facing a violation. ARMORY/OVERLOOK SHELTER

People First is a homeless services provider in Santa Cruz County dedicated to ensuring housing for all by uniting the community, forming partnerships, inspiring advocacy and providing services.

We regularly update and distribute lists of free services and resources through the County in the form of 4 different Free Guides (Santa Cruz, Watsonville, San Lorenzo Valley, and Veterans).

We launched an Outreach-Based Case Management Program in January which works with homeless and recently housed people throughout the County by meeting them where they're at, literally and metaphorically.

This past winter was our second season of running Extreme Weather Shelters (EWS) in the County which provided hundreds of people experiencing homelessness with a warm and welcoming place to rest in the evening and spend time during the day.

We're entering our third year of operating an RV Safe Parking Program that includes a stable place for individuals and families to park their RVs 24/7, case management, and housing navigation.
