Located near busy Mission Street in Santa Cruz's beautiful Residential West Side, residents will have access to many local eateries, businesses, activities and job opportunities. Residents are encouraged to live independently in this supportive, community based setting. Residents are encouraged to develop and practice life skills and relationship building. In this supported environment, residents are able to develop a stronger sense of accountability, responsibility and community to further their recovery. The multi-story home sits on a large wooded lot, in a quiet and serene setting. Freedom House is located far away from the hustle and bustle of Santa Cruz, with convenient public transportation access. At Freedom house, clients receive the benefits of community support from recovery peers as well as bilingual house management. Residents build community connections by attending weekly house meetings where rules and policies are frequently reviewed and assessed which helps to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all residents. Our low-barrier outpatient MAT program provides rapid support to people struggling with substance use disorders, offering medication management as well as peer support. Our team includes two advanced practice providers, a nurse and a peer specialist to assist clients with their needs. We can see most clients within 24 hours and can do so in-person or virtually to avoid long wait times for appointments. Our peer specialist works with our community partners including the courts, emergency departments, residential facilities and outreach programs to support clients transitioning into our outpatient care. We also offer a contingency management program for clients struggling with either stimulant use disorder alone, or in addition to other substance use disorders. We are able to provide care for underinsured and uninsured individuals.
