IN HOME SUPPORTIVE SERVICES (IHSS)
The County of Santa Cruz Human Services Department's In Home Supportive Services (IHSS) program supports safe independent living for low-income frail elderly adults and disabled persons of all ages. County IHSS services assist people to apply for and determine eligibility to receive and access IHSS. The IHSS Public Authority - a separate partner agency - is the employer of record for IHSS providers, providing assistance to IHSS recipient consumers on how to interview, hire and supervise a care providers, helping improve service delivery for low income seniors and disabled individuals of all ages who are enrolled in IHSS.

Provides library cards, public computer, and wireless internet access. Offers e-resources, research databases, collection of books, newspapers, magazines, CDs, and DVDs. Provides activities for all ages including storytime reading, paint & tech nights and music. Provides adult literacy programs including individual reading, writing, and tutoring.

ADULT SUBSTANCE USE COUNSELING SERVICES - ENCOMPASS ALTO CENTERS - NORTH & SOUTH COUNTY
Provides Substance Use Disorder Treatment including individual, group and family counseling. Offers strategies to resolve legal, social, and family issues stemming from alcohol and drug abuse including:
- Individual and group chemical dependency counseling
- Aftercare and relapse prevention counseling
- Drug and alcohol abuse education
Court-related services include:
- Deferred Judgment (Court Diversion) provides an alternative to incarceration for first-offenders Alto In-Custody SUD Provides Substance Use Disorder treatment groups for incarcerated adults at the local county jail facilities. Stress Busters: Mental Healthcare, Mindfulness Practices

The CalFresh Healthy Living program provides nutrition and fitness education for youth and parents/adults, in schools and community organizations. We convene community partners with a focus on south county to address healthy eating and active living through changes in policies, systems and environments. We also provide training, resources, presentations, and outreach to the community around the issue of child sexual abuse and sexual violence. Survivors/victims services: Mental Health Services, Support Groups Serve victims/survivors who are impacted by the following crimes: Child sexual abuse/assault
