The Multi-Family Utility Customer Assistance Program (UCAP) is designed to

assist financially struggling households that live in multi-family apartment

complexes. Households that live in large housing complexes usually pay their

water, wastewater, and/or refuse costs to their landlords or property managers via

rent, a 3rd party bill, or via HOA fees. This Multi-Family UCAP provides a onetime

utility assistance check to help struggling households afford their SCMU

utility service fees/costs. In order to apply, income-qualifying households must

live within SCMU's service area (generally Santa Cruz and Live Oak).

RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT SERVICES - ENCOMPASS EL DORADO CENTER

Treatment Focus: Helping individuals step down from locked care El Dorado Center (EDC) is a community-based, short-term treatment program for individuals who may be stepping down from locked care. An intensive, structured residential program, EDC is an unlocked, home-like environment facilitating the healing process in preparation for transitioning back to community living. Our staff provide individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, structured activities, community outings, and assistance with independent living skills and connecting to the community. A registered nurse is on staff and a County psychiatrist is available for medication monitoring and management.

CALIFORNIA CHILDREN SERVICES PROGRAM (CCS)

Arranges, directs, and pays for medical care, equipment, and physical and occupational therapy for youth (age 21 or under), when these services are authorized by this state program. Services are authorized for youth (age 21 or under) with eligible medical conditions and whose families are unable to pay for all or part of their care.

MEDICAL THERAPY PROGRAM

Provides occupational and physical therapy to children (birth to 21) with certain physical conditions or diseases. These are physical problems that affect the child's ability to control the movements of the body. Examples include cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy or congenital orthopedic abnormalities. The therapy services are offered at two Medical Therapy Units (MTU) which are based at Duncan Holbert School in Watsonville and a Santa Cruz location. All services are provided free to families whose child has a medically eligible condition or disease.

ADOLESCENT FAMILY LIFE PROGRAM

Provides home visits to pregnant and parenting teenagers, male (age 19 and under) and female (age 18 and under) and their children. Services include assessments, home nursing, parenting education, and case management to promote a healthy pregnancy and baby, to stay in school or re-enroll in school, to postpone future pregnancies, and to become emotionally, socially and financially independent. Services include workforce and job development, education and computer literacy, mental health counseling, assessment and linkage to substance use disorder treatment, parenting and family involvement, social services navigation, domestic violence, anger management, and social skills classes, and linkage to shelter and housing support. Introduction: The Juvenile Services Division is responsible for the intake, investigation, pre and post adjudication services which include alternatives to detention programs and community supervision, out-of-home placement, and prevention of out of home placement for juveniles referred to the Probation Department.

HEALTHY FOOD PROGRAM

The organization delivers weekly bags of fresh vegetables, fruits, and healthy staples to 4,200 Santa Cruz County seniors age 50 , families, and farmworkers; distributes groceries on site; serves healthy meals each weekday; and offers classes, support groups, and annual luncheon events. Additionally, it operates donation drop-off points that accept new or secondhand clothing (including baby, children's, formal wear, general, shoe, and work clothing), food, gift cards, appliances, bedding, furniture, household goods, toys, glasses, cell phones, computers, tools, automobiles, and bicycles for redistribution or reuse. The organization also functions as a recycling center, collecting and processing batteries, electronic waste, and nonhazardous recyclable materials such as paper, glass, plastic, and aluminum.

Most sports seasons do not overlap so that the students themselves can play in several different sports teams during the school year.
